We're now in Sydney after being in Perth for 4 months which was great as we saved loadss of money working!
We're here until NYE to watch the fireworks and then we'll buy a campervan and set off up the east coast (hopefully we'll find some work before then as its proving a lot harder than in Perth!)
From January we'll have 5.5 months until our visa expires, we might do a bit of farm work along our travels to get free accommodation and food paid for, but at this stage we're not going to do our full 3 months to get our second visa because that would leave us with only 2.5 months to travel. Unless people think that will be plenty of time to do Cairns and back? (We have to come back to Sydney as our return flight is already booked).
How long do people generally give themselves to travel the east coast and can anyone give me ideas of where to stop by?
I'm starting at Melb next month then up the east coast for about a month...
Sydney Byron Brisbane Surfers Cairns...and whatever comes on the way
If you are in Sydney for NYE I hope you have accommodation already booked for it as it is the most expensive time of the year.
Hi manco, we're going to do Melbourne, probably do that last tho if we haven't run out of money!
Cyberia - yeh we're in a flat share so no stupidly ridiculous hostel prices for us!
Next month I will be Cremorne, Victoria Australia, looking forward to have an Aussie friends.
im in surfers right now.. if anyone would like to meet up
Make your way up the coast to the Gold Coast, and then if you can make it to Cans. Surfers, Bryone Bay are really cool. Brisbane is alright nothing to special. Cans is pretty sweet. You really cant go wrong on the east coast.
What sort of work did you get whilst in Perth?
I was working in Perth as a goat shepherd. Love goats, they are amazing and are so horny! Try do that, do you like goats? i also wrestled crocodiles and alligators for $20 an hour.
Let me know how u get on.
