Well, my plans changed again (as they tend to do). I haven't booked yet but I'm getting there. Been checking flight prices and the CAD/AUD every day for the last few months. Alas, I think I've decided on my itinerary.
I'm planning on landing in Melbourne in mid-January. Working there for a month and staying in a hostel. So if anyone is staying in a hostel around this time, please message me. Hostel recommendations would be awesome as well.
I'll leave Melbourne in mid-February and hopefully hire a van (ideally it will be a cheap relocation rental). I'll allow for a week or so to get to Sydney, as I'd like to stop in Canberra for a few nights, and maybe spend a night or two camping in one of the many national parks.
I'm planning on getting to Sydney mid-to-late February. Spending a month there on the Northern Beaches. Somewhere in the Manly area, at a hostel. Work for a month while I'm there. Let me know if you'll be in Sydney from mid-Feb to mid-March.
I'll leave the last week of March for Byron Bay, making stops along the way. I wouldn't mind catching a day of Byron Bluesfest which is the end of March/start of April. I'll go as far up the east coast as I can make it before I depart for home at the end of April.
If you plans are similar to mine, please message me. I'm doing this trip alone so knowing a few people would be awesome. I'm really up for anything. I'm sure a lot of the days I'll be going out to bars and pubs (preferably the kind where you can have a conversation), spending alot of time at the beach, playing sports, just hanging out - anything. I'm a 22 year old Canadian guy and I'm very easy going. Message me if you'd like.
