Travel Forums System Talk "Anyone can comment"

Hello,

I've clicked the anyone can comment option on my blog and it seems to work but when I try and access it through a link I sent to my other computer each post says that only travellerspoint members can comment...

Any idea what could be causing this?

Many thanks,

Neil

The message that comes up seems to indicate that the open period has passed. The last blog entry is marked as being from 20 October so that could well be the case. By default I think blog entries allow comments by non members for a few weeks, but you can change this setting in the same area where you opened up the blog for public commenting (not sure what the max is but it's quite a bit longer). The reason for the default restriction is that spam bots actually hit the opened up blogs pretty heavily trying to post spam comments. So far they haven't really succeeded but the shorter the period, the less chance they have.

Just to be clear, feel free to change that length to something much longer. It's just that we didn't want the default being that long!!
