Hi everyone

My name is Phil, I'm 23 and in February I will have finished my apprenticeship in professional cookery.

I'm glad I'll have a qualification that will help me in the career of my choice but I feel like I'm not going to be young forever and before I get tied down with a steady job and all other kinds of responsibilities, I need to go see the world.

At the moment I'm living from pay check to pay check and saving up can be quite difficult. So this is where I need advice as I am clueless in regards to where to start.

Can I go travelling on a small budget?
Would I be able to travel working as a chef?
How long should I go for?
What information can I find to help me get started?

If anyone had an experience similar to mine I would love to hear your stories.

Cheers.

Pretty difficult to see the world when you can't save money, but if you can scrape enough together for airfare there are lots of developing countries that are super cheap.

Your chef skills will be really difficult to utilize in a developing country where labour is plentiful and very inexpensive.

How long should you go for?... That's a question only you and your wallet can answer.

Lots of travel guides, internet forums, etc. that specialize with budget travel. Have fun with you research.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Terry
