I am planning on travelling around Asia some time in the new year. I have not planned a route yet but I would like to start in Thailand and go from there, i don't know much about Asia but it has always been a place that I am interested in, especially the cultures.
Is there a book available that recommends places to go and see, different routes and travel advice when travelling around Asia?
I would recommend one of the books from "Lonely Planet". I haven't used them for Asia specifically, I bought the one for Australia which I think will come in really handy. They don't have one for Asia as a broad category, instead, they're broken down into the different countries or regions. They contain loads of maps, cultural insights, accommodations, activities and points of interest, etc. Hope this helps!
South East Asia on a shoestring is probably the most popular guidebook for that region - it certainly served me well for 3 months travelling there. The Rough Guide to Southeast Asia On A Budget is also a good option.
Thanks for te replies, I will take a look at both of them books!
