You find an area you like at a price you can afford, within reasonable commuting distance of a new job and maybe of his family.

Maybe a family holiday to London will help you decide?

I agree that a vacation or two to London would be the best place to start. It's tough to make that type of decision about a place you've never even seen.

If you know that you want to move, the first thing you need to do is apply for a family visa so that you and your boys can legally live in the UK. The Home Office website is a great place to start: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/partners-families/

Once you know that you can legally emigrate to the UK, then you can start the process of figuring out where you'd like to live and how you would support yourselves.
