Hello

My name is Patricia and I arrived in Germany from Canada on July 31st 2012. I had a lot on my plate and completely forgot about the 90 days visa.
I unfortunetly overstayed those 90 days and it has been almost 4 months now.
What can I do? Am i going to have to pay a fine? Will I be banned from the country? from all Swchegan countries? Please let me know

Hey! I've been researching Europe because I plan to travel there this summer, and the Schengen situation is super confusing. This page was really helpful for me: http://www.nomadicmatt.com/travel-blogs/how-to-legally-stay-in-europe-for-more-than-90-days/

I heard you have to pay a fee of 500 euros if you over stay, but this article also says some countries don't even look twice so if I were you I would try and leave from Spain or one of the more lenient countries mentioned in the article. Hope that helps!

A friend of mine was kicked out of Germany for overstaying her visa, so whatever you do, you better do something quickly before you get a mark in your passport that makes travelling to Europe a lot harder down the line...
