anyone know what kind of weather i can expect in phuket and around krabi province during september? does the monsoon affect the area so much that it makes it hard to reach islands like ko phi phi? i like the idea that it will be quieter there then but is it still worth going?
any help would be great
monsoon is just a rain - some canals and rivers might overflow - but the life goes as usual.
Many long tail botes in Krabi were destroyed - but there should not be a problem with moving around.
By september the hordes of the summer holidaymakers will be back home. But on the Kho PP there is shortage a budget accomodation - only very few hotels (upmarket) survived after the tsunami.
It's fine to visit PP in September. There are some hotels, restaurants, and some shops open at the moment. It should be alright in September.
You can email this guy,Andrew, he's been on PP for about 14 years. firstname.lastname@example.org And he can help you out
