hey all, im heading to melbourne to get set up and want to try and make a go of playing on the streets for cash. just with guitar and vocals, maybe the mandolin too and a shaker. does anyone know the legal situation? do i need a permit, and if so, is it enforced? also if there are any recomendations on where is best. i.e. pedestrian streets.

grazie mille,
aln

Probably down on Southbank is your best bet - there seem to be a lot of buskers there - or maybe Swanston Street / Bourke St as well.

I dare say you need some sort of license for such popular places. Not really sure though to be honest.
