What are your opinions of the falls. Im in Punta del Este at the mo, could you tell me if you can get a bus from Montevideo straight there??
When I get there should i stay on the brazilian side or argentinan? You gotta bare in mind it would bew much easier as I will have Pesos, therefore not have to change over tiny amount of Brazilian currency.
How long did you spend there??
ANY suggestions or advice would be useful.
Cheers, from a hot and bronzed Tarik - oh what a life!
I had been in both sides. You need less time for the Brazilian side, like half day, and full day for Argentinian. You have to go to both sides, don't leave one of them without visiting.
It is very easy to move from one side to the other, there is a bus that connect two cities and stops for border formalities.
In our case we were in Brazilian side and went (and returned back) to see the Argentinian side (full day). We changed some money, in dollars or euros (don't remember exactly) in a little shop in the Argentinian side terminal in a little worse change than in a bank, but it was like 20 euros/dollars, not important.
The Brazilian side is better organised and you get right under the falls, but it only really takes half a day. On the other hand, the Argintine side give you massive pnoramic views of the falls, you can get right above them and walk for miles aorund them. This is enough to fill a good full day. I recommend both as they are diffrent and each have something unique to offer.
I was there last January, and definitely you should visit both sides, Argentinean side took me one day to cover the 5 circuits...if you want you can take some tour in boats that take you near some falls...you'll finish completely wet...I enjoyed more the Brazilian side the views are fantastic!
man just got here and walked around today. This is the best thing i have ever seen in my life.. its just ridiculous, its amazing, and you are in sub tropical rainforest
I agree with everyone in that you have to do both sides, there is no point in going and just seeing one side. In my case I stayed in a hostel on the Brazillian side, and had a day trip to the Arg side which was amazing and did the boat ride which I would recommmend if funds allow it!! Then for the Brazilliand side we all just got a local bus there and did the whole thing ourselves which worked out alot cheaper!
