Hello,
I am interested in traveling in South America beginning in Feb/March. I would like to learn Spanish and teach English. I would love a travel companion or any kind of advice.
I live in NYC. If there is anyone who would like to plan such a trip,
please let me know.
Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for responding to my post!

I don't have a definitive itinerary yet, but I would like to travel in Chile, Ecuador, Peru and possibly Brazil. I am flexible about these countries.
Do you have any travel safety concerns about any of these areas? If so, do you have any suggestions?
I have found several, quite affordable, language immersion/teaching English programs. Is anyone interested in participating in one of these?
I do hope I end up meeting all of you.

adi from nyc.

Hi. just the general common sense stuff regarding safety, eg, be aware of whats going on around you, dont walk in unlit areas alone at night, etc. In my opinion the only one to avoid is Columbia!

hiya,
i'll be teaching english in chile for 5 months starting in March (2004). I signed up with a UK GAP year organisation which have been pretty efficient so far and i imagine there would be similiar organisation in the US. I'll be staying with a chilean family for the duration of my stay and i've heard from previous volunteers that this is a really effective way of learning spanish, which is good because right now i don't know any! How long are you planning to teach for? Good Luck!

Hi, i will be in SA this summer as well. Not sure about the itinerary yet. My plans are very flexible. I am a 39 yr old male, family man, who speaks fluent Spanish. If you would like to share your plans and hang out sometime, let me know.
