I have decided recently (within a few days, cuz I'm crazy like that ) that I want to travel to Australia at the start of 2013 (this depends on when my visa comes through etc..).
I think I may be be going at this alone..I am currently living in Austria with my boyfriend, there is nothing really here for me though as I don't speak fluent German unfortunately, so depending on how things go over Christmas & New Year will depend on how soon I get my *bum* to Australia!
I have never wrote on one of these *forum* things before so excuse me if I sound a bit like a weirdo :-D..
Sooo any advise for me? Going alone? Money? Anything!?
Looking on making a nice little community of traveller friends to share some crazy experiences with !

Hey, I'm travelling alone to Canberra, in march, I'm only staying for 2weeks as I'm a teacher in the uk and can only travel in holidays!!! Backpacking sounds great but I love my job too much to leave haha!
If you're under 30 you can get student visa and work - fruit picking, telemarketing, waiting, bar work - the usual. There's plenty of agencies looking for staff. Australia is expensive though I wouldn't live anywhere else. And Melbourne is my choice. Don't worry about travelling solo. We're a friendly mob.
