Citibank - Visa card Euro withdrawal experience.

I am on a visit to Turkey, and many places accept only Euros or Lira. I am unable to withdraw money in Euros because I get the " Your bank has not authorised this transaction" .

I ask my bank(CITI, UK) and they say, I have not breached the daily withdrawal limit. I am not sure whether there is a limit on the withdrawals of Euros in Turkey, because I got that message across most of the ATMs, but then later in the day I was able to withdraw some 150 Euros.

Now I am not sure of whats happening , and would like to know if anyone has faced this in Antalya/Turkey !?

If you failed to notify your bank prior to travel, I believe they suspect some kind of fraud. The fact that you were finally successful is a good sign - good luck.

I traveled in Turkey last year, and had no problem withdrawing either Lira or Euro.
