Rumour has it Thorntree will be down for at least another two weeks. In the meantime, welcome to all you TT users. Feel free to make yourself known and say hi! And of course we hope you enjoy it tons and tons more here! :)

I was just 'accused' of killing off TT by one TLWH!! (I don't even visit the site.) I don't believe that TP's 'holy hose or crowbar of destruction' reach that far. I'm innocent, I swear! Rumor has it, he'll be back here to visit! YAY!

I agree with Sam - welcome to TP!!! We have wonderful Admin, great Moderators and excellent members.

Be at rest.... The weak moderator team and abusive posters on 'Your Choice' and 'Women Travellers' killed off Thorn Tree in its recently closed down form.
It looks like it'll be back within the next week or two but I, along with many others for sure, will wonder how long for. I fear it could be permanently damaged beyond repair.

It's back, very bruised and battered too. No posts are put up now until read first by a moderator and over half the branches have vanished.
I echo the last sentence I posted in 13.

Interesting, I see threads where it says : "last reply Jan 2, 2013 6:07 PM"

How is that possible I wonder

Very interesting indeed, indeed. A right shoddy mess and not getting any tidier.
No idea what's going on, but it's there if anyone want to - I suppose.
I'm gone.

Just a little PS to what I wrote earlier....
I've been looking over Thorn Tree on and off for the last couple of hours and it is in serious danger of losing all its loyal regulars. I posted a question on the Community FAQ's asking what's happened to certain other branches and my post was removed.
I then asked what has happened to Eastern Europe's branch and the post was totally blocked without being posted. Not very nice and not encouraging either.
Think I'll leave it for a month or two - yuk ! !

Ouch, that's got to hurt...

The poster or the moderator? :-)

All private messages are banned for now, too. It's utter rubbish !

This is an old thread but seems nearest to what I have to say. Just logged on to TT tonight (planning my next trip for mid-2013) and discovered what has happened. Lots of speculation going on over there.

I wonder - LP makes heavy use of Ruby On Rails. Was the once mighty TT felled by the RoR vulnerability?
