I am traveling Asia alone end of Jan 2013. Destinations: Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia - maybe Bali, Phillipines and China.
If anyone has any recommendations of companies to use for accommodation or tours or any general advice or tips it would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. 29yr old female!
Try to go to Bangkok and Bali, arguably the best tourist city and island in the world, respectively. Although I have not been yet, I want to visit Boracay, which has gathered buzz recently in the same that Bali did not too many years ago. Make sure you prepare for China visa regulations.
Kravitz, seriously no need to worry about booking things in advance. Don't waste money and sacrifice your independence for an organized all inclusive tour. These are all very easy places to travel. Maybe book a night or two in Bangkok when you first arrive just so you don't have to worry about looking fresh off the plane. I recommend Agoda for finding a place.
Once you are there, it's really easy to find everything you need and to book local tours or buses/trains to your next destination. Stay near Khao San so that you are close to all the resources that you need to organize your travels from there.
As mentioned above, think about your chinese visa though. You have to organize it before you arrive, but Bangkok is a good spot for this, or you can do it in Hong Kong if you are flying there first.
