Hi fellow travelers,
I need some help here. I am currently in Freiburg, Germany and I want to go to Sweden. I had a residence permit from Sweden for the last 2 years, the last one expired on 30 June 2012. The thing is I applied for an extension, and I am a master student, the rule states that you can wait in Sweden until a decision is made. I have not heard from the migration board, except some further questions, but there is no decision or any replies to my e-mails. I really needed to travel for the Christmas time to Germany, and that was the first time that I left Sweden. It has been literally 6 months, and I find it unfair to wait in Sweden, not travelling at all.
Anyway, I came here by train, because I didn't want to go through any passport checks. There was German customs after Denmark, but they just asked about the luggage, no passport whatsoever. But, I hear Danes have more strict control over passports and have systematically controls, since I came to Copenhagen from Malmo (that's sort of a commuter train) there was no checks, and from Copenhagen it was a leaving train to Germany, so I guess nobody cares.
Do you think they would check passports when I enter Denmark on the day train? Or should I go by car with a carpooling person (which I have one) -still hearing some Danish border checks on the toll booths-, or should I fly to Sweden? In Sweden, I am legal but if they check before the flight at the airport, that would do a problem. But do they check it in Schengen area?
I really appreciate your time and your answers. Thank you!
