Hi Anne,

We're just off on tour for the weekend, so I'll get back to you more fully on this one. Have you checked with Toon Travel, Bangkok yet about buses or trains to Chiang Mai (ie what time they leave)?
+
Also do you want to go down through Laos from Chiang Mai?

Ciao

No, I havent but the plan will be to fly from Bangkok to Chiang Mai possibly on Sunday May 1st. A day and a half in Bangkok should be enough especially since we will be getting back there at the tail end.

Yes, since we are already in the northern part, I figured Laos will be the route and try to see what I can see. Then probably head down to Cambodia from there. Keep me posted on your plans. Ironically, two minutes ago, I got a reply from Sarah guesthouse. Room, two twin beds with A/C, 350B. I think is pretty good. I will probably stay there. Oh, if they want payment ahead of time, is it safe to pay now?

There shouldn't be any need too pay in advance. There is no shortage of guesthouses. They probably don't accept credit card payments anyhow.

I got a reply from Sarah last night...she said just to let her know I am coming a week ahead of time. That should work. Thanks!
