Hi there!

My wife and I are emigrating to Australia in March. We've booked our flights out there to include a 12-day stopover in Singapore, allowing us to find somewhere nice, warm and beautiful to relax for a couple of weeks before we start our new life Down Under. The weeks leading up to our departure from home (the UK) are likely to be emotionally stressful, as is to be expected, so we're looking for somewhere to really unwind and be together. We both love to dive, and are looking at the Philippines, Malaysia and possibly Indonesia as possibilities.

We've travelled a fair bit around Asia already (Sipadan, Perhentian Islands, Southern Leyte), but wonder if anybody out there has discovered a beautiful spot to enjoy beach, hammocks, cocktails, total relaxation and a bit of diving. We're spending a lot of cash on the move so we are reasonably budget-conscious. We need to be able to get there by plane or plane/boat from Singapore.

Panglao in the Philippines seems nice - anyone been there?

Thanks for any suggestions!!

Will

I have to say, I think you hit the nail on the head with the Perhentian islands but as you said, you've already been. Me and my mate LOVED George Town and Penang, not sure if there's any diving around there though... Phi-Phi islands in Thailand are nice and diving was lovely. Good luck on your travels, hope you find somewhere super
