Hey all,

I am thinking of going to Oz around Sept/Oct 2013, as soon as I get the money together. No job here or no chance of getting one...if your from Ireland you know what i mean!!

I would love to have someone to go with as none of my friends are in a position to do so. Not sure where to start or where would be the best place to get work. I will be on a working holiday visa and will be working, but would like to see as much of Oz as I can.

Is there is anybody in the same position as me and would like a travel buddy just to get settled in Oz as it is a bit daunting facing it on your own.. I would love to hear from you.

Im in my 20's and from Galway but would welcome anyone of any age..

Hi Damien,

Im from England and heading out in August. I'm planning to head to the Perth area for work as soon as I get there. Then I will know how realistic my plans are as it depends on how much work I can get.

Get over to Australia backpackers 2013 on FB. It's a really easy way to connect with people :)

Thanks Rob, will def check that out. I was looking at Perth also as my first port of call.. hard to decide where to start off..

Tell me about it.... I think a lot of people will head to the east coast so jobs will be harder to come by. Plus I reckon once I'm over in the east I won't head back towards Perth so I'm starting there instead.

That's a really good point Rob. Can I ask how much money you've saved or will have saved by then? I'm only thinking of going for a month, but if I enjoyed it and did find some sort of job, would have nothing stopping me from stretching out my stay. It's the cost that worries me the most really!
