Hi, I'm from Iceland and I'll be flying to Germany in June this summer to buy a car and travel around Europe for 3-4 weeks and finally going back home taking the car with me by sea. (ferry from Denmark to Iceland, takes about 3 days and offers to take vehicles).
I really need some help and advise on buying a car in Germany, what to look for and what to avoid.
Can someone recommend used car dealers near Berlin which will sort out all the paperwork for me? I don't mind paying a little more because once I take the car home with me it'll still be well under market price since cars are quite expensive in Iceland.
I recently discovered that cars are not sold with number plates in Germany and you have to wait a couple of days for your insurance company to sort things out. What is the simplest way to tackle this?
I'm looking for a Diesel Mercedes or BMW with a good service history for about 2-8000 Euros.
