My friend went to Israel,Tel aviv couple of years ago and she had a great time out there. But I guess that Tel aviv is not the craziest part of Israel right?
I went to Israel twice in the 90's and had no probs. Managed to see Tel Aviv, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, the Dead Sea etc. You won't be allowed through the road blocks into troubled areas anyway. But if you keep putting it off you will never go.
you wouldnt want to miss Turkey belive me. Stories can be created.
So do I (surprised with the statistic). This morning I read an article in the newspaper which publicised the beauty of Lebanon - It was used to be a room for wars and battles.
I would love to go to Turkey one day. Heard all the good stories about it. For Dutch, Turkey is quite a popular destination.
I'm told that Israeli's aren't allowed into Muslim countries, such as Afghanistan. If Jewish, it could pay to keep quiet about it in Arab countries at least
You might be right Wocca. When I went to the United Arab Emirates, I looked at the visa regulations and it as good as said that if you are Jewish, then don't bother applying. But that's cool, at least they're not puting a WALL up around the place.
It was an Israeli that mentioned it to me
I've been to India 3 times (the first time for 6 weeks)and also spent 2 weeks in Turkey. I found both to be great destinations and would definitely go back (don't avoid them). The Sudan is the only place I recall where I didn't feel comfortable (people were not that friendly)and wouldn't want to go back. I wouldn't go to Afghanistan or Iraq or Algeria (Why? because I want to live to travel another day).
