I've bought a suitcase big enough for me to fit in, in hopes of finding some great places to shop in Paris! There are the big designer shops (which is a little out of price range) and the famous department stores (Galaries Lafayette, Au Primetemps, Au Bon Marché) but any hidden secrets? Any designer outlet malls? A cute clothing or shoe store (that isn't unreasonably priced)?
I've got souvenier shopping down, but now I need some items to fill up the ole suitcase.
Thanks in advance!
There's this wonderful shop near Place des Voges that sells food and spices and teas and you name it. It's cramped and smells delicious - you have to squeeze through the tiny, little aisles to get to anything. I bought three salt grinders that had sea salt mixed with lavender, chamomile, spices, mmm.
Although it would help if I could remeber the name of the place.
Paris is a mall, lots of shops south of the river if you head south past Notre Dame, a lot of clothing that isn't top designer and modern things if you walk along Bd. St. Germain I believe is the road.
Thanks guys! Anyone else know a great store for fashion?
Also, I heard that Paris has a flea market, and the friend I'm going with is interested in that. I did some research and I think I may have found the location, but it's pretty far out of the city. Anyone heard of this and know if there's one in central Paris?
There's little market just as you exit Cite, near Notre Dame. I think it's a flower market most of the week, and a bird market on Sundays. Every bird in every imaginable colour! Plus some other little animals that you can pet.
I found this, for a more comprehensive list of flea markets.
I heard about the St-Ouen one....have you ever been? I'm just wondering if I should tag along with my friend or do something else for the day.
