It is estimated that at any one time 0.7 percent of the worlds population are drunk

I am really shocked that it is that LOW!

I actually found that rat vomit thing so fascinating that I had to look it up. According to RATBEHAVIOR.ORG (why someone would have a website dedicate to rat behaviour is beyond me, but...) there are three reasons why rats can't vomit:

  • Rats have a powerful barrier between the stomach and the esophagus. They don't have the esophageal muscle strength to overcome and open this barrier by force, which is necessary for vomiting.
  • Vomiting requires that the two muscles of the diaphragm contract independently, but rats give no evidence of being able to dissociate the activity of these two muscles.
  • Rats don't have the complex neural connections within the brain stem and between brain stem and viscera that coordinate the many muscles involved in vomiting.

I find that interesting.

.7% of the worlds population would still be approximately 41 million people, which is about the number of people who live in Columbia. Or, over 10 times the number of people in Ireland.

I have a real good one...

Did you know that on a Canadian two dollar bill, the flag flying over the Parliament Building is an American flag?

Actually I know this one for a fact:

Did you know that ninety percent of New York City cabbies are recently arrived immigrants?

I love talking to the cabbies, most of them are from the middle east but they have so many interesting stories to tell about their lives...

So who knows the origins of the most used 4 letter word. It started off in 19th century Ireland when public indecency was a serious crime, couples were charged with 'Found Under Carnal Knowledge' and the police abbreviated it.

There you go, now that is interesting!!!!!
