O.k.

The fact about Barbie if she was real, not only would she have serious back problems but her ankles would be too small to support her body weight.

Now thats a fact people!

We're BACK...

0.7% of the population drunk? That obviously doesn't include my brewery staff! (Mr. Isa)

There are more Greeks in Chicago than in Athens.
There are more Armenians in Fresno (CA) than in Yerevan, Armenia

The deer hit me - not vise versa - it was a suicide thing! (Mrs. Isa)

Joz - are you Mario Andretti on steriods or an animal magnet? Just don't run over any Gila Monsters because it's a punishable offense - they are an endangered species. They love to sun themselves on the roads. Don't pick them up - they don't like it - they bite and don't let go - EVER!

The first use of the F-117A stealth bomber was a non-stop trip from Nevada to Panama in 1989 - used to bomb Noriega's airfield at Rio Hato. They missed the barracks filled with young Panamanian soldiers in an attempt to scare them into surrendering. It worked.

Rats - rats don't need to vomit to die from rat poison. Most rodent poisons are mainly composed of warfarin - which is an anti-coagulant. Basically, they bleed to death internally. Now, try getting that vision out of your head!

The human body produces upwards of 3 pints of mucous (snot) per day. Most of it swallowed so you don't notice it!

The Kama Sutra lied - there are more positions than that.

James, MattXIII and Pardus all have a thing for virgins! (Try to prove that wrong - check their posts!)

Good one Joz,
Did you know that the average American uses around 800 words in random telephone conversations, while the average British person uses around 5000.
Cheers
Alex

Somehow I think you've either got your figures around the wrong way, or you've left a zero (or two) of the US figures.

I think we should start a new forum on this site about interesting facts or figures that we've either read about or learned somehow while on the road, be it in a book or just a little trick somebody taught you. It shouldn't have to do anything, the only requirement being maybe less than 100 words. I'm just the giver of an idea though, and have no knowledge of how to get such an idea rolling.

What do you think?

Do you know the origins of the word "TRIVIA" ?

Its origins are Latin. Tri = three and Via = way or road. In ancient Rome wherever three roads met it was common to find a sort of bulletin board where news was posted. Today little bits of information or news is often referred to as 'trivia'.

(This is what I found )

Scientific research has shown that cows are prone to regular mood swings and can hold grudges.

(that's true.)

Ha! Thank you Isa's! :)
I don't think I should give you exact figures as most people find it a tad unbelievable...except for the police...most of whom I know on a first name basis;)
