I am looking at doing a study abroad program in Australia, but wanted to travel in Europe some first. I am having difficulty finding sources for flights from Europe to Australia, does anyone have suggestions for airlines? I am very flexible in what country of Europe I would leave from and would be flying into Brisbane, but could do Sydney as well.

Singapore Airlines flies from a huge number of cities in Europe, transit in Singapore and then into Brisbane.

Qantas/Emirates have just announced a new partnership - so if you want to fly through Dubai that's another option. Qantas flights typically land you in Sydney, but Brisbane is only another hour flight away, and transit is relatively easy and not an additional cost (to East Coast Australia).

All depends on flight availability and cost, etc... you could also have a look at skyscanner.net and see what other options pop up for you. It's tricky when you say you're flexible about leaving from Europe, because you could be anywhere!
