Currently looking into travelling options and am very eager to travel up the east coast of Australia, Sydney to Cairns for at least 4 weeks. Also I want to travel to/around NZ for roughly the same amount of time.
Interested to find out budgets and the best way to get around once out in the places to get an idea of what to save etc,
What's the best way to do the east coast? On a relatively cheap-ish budget, and any extra places of interest to stop off on the way along.
Also, places to visit in NZ and the best way to do it travel-wise e.g. bus/hire car etc and where the best places to stay are
Any suggestions/ideas are extremely welcome!
Completely new to this so would appreciate some help
Hey i'm from NZ my advice if your coming here the best way by far would be to start in Auckland with a campervan/car/van and to travel from the top of the North Island to the South Island and back up again just so you have that freedom since there are sooooo many good places to stop on your way down. Definitely the best option if you have someone to travel with you can split costs but not as cheap on your own paying for petrol/rental prices.
You could alternatively travel by bus and stay in cheap hostels. There are loads of different bus companies constantly going all over the country to pretty much every town i'm not 100% sure about this but i think for around $250NZD you can get like 35 hours of time on the bus getting on and off wherever you like.. which should be plenty to get you all the way down NZ and back to the top.
lots of great places to visit things to do i could list some if you really are interested otherwise goodluck with your trip
