I would like to spend 2 weeks away, perhaps in Greece, with my boyfriend.
2 locations, one week in each.

Four star / Hotel and apartment / villa

Any advice/Recommendations/suggestions welcome! :)

If not Greece, where?!

Thank you
Sophie

I recommend you greek islands.

If not Greece, than... Malta, Corsica, Sicily, Canaries, Azores

Or maybe just Andalusia or Toscana?
Or maybe Caribbean?

What kind of vacation you looking for

Ohhh.... THANK YOU!

I am looking for a very relaxing time somewhere unspoilt. In the sunshine, with natural beaches... A sleepy place with locals and not flooded with tourists!

Anywhere specfic in the Greek Islands?

Thank you
:)

Sophieac, in order to provide some ideas, you mayt want to share where you will be coming from and where exactly you plan to visit. Also, are you looking for direct flights or what? I guess you prefer a DIT approach rather than a package?

I am asking because there are direct flights in season to particular areas from some European airports while if you come eg from US or something you will quite likely have to go through Athens.

What kind of flights, rates and crowds you'll meet are very dependent on when you plan to visit too.

I guess DIY as you mention a quiet place with not many tourists around... Am I correct?

What kind of beach are you after? Sandy or pebbly or rocky , organised or not? Any other interests?

I am sure you 'll find something that suits you in Greece, but in order togets some ideas you may want to narrow it down a bit!

PS: Greece is not Greek islands only. Have a look on mainland too, there are many sea side location that may suit. ;)

Thank you...
First week of June, from LHR or Gatwick - probably into Corfu.
Sandy beach
Quiet, no noisy children, or tourists
Relxing
Interests boats, fish / animals /wildlife
We are after a change from hotels, hence the desire for a villa for 2 weeks or an apartment.
The dream is to be surrounded by beauty in the sunshine.

Hello again!

For Corfu I think you may want to have a look on Agios Gordios, a quiet village with a long sandy beach http://agios-gordios.net/ . A nice idea for your second week might be Parga on mainland, it is about 90 minutes ferry Corfu to Igoumenitsa, then I think about 90 minutes bus ride to Parga. http://www.pargagreece.net/ June is a quiet month in Greece, even busy destinations will not feel very noisy or crowded. And those destinations I mentioned are on the low key side anyway.

But note that this part of Greece is a tad bit colder than southern areas. Water and even air temperature might be somehow low for some people on first week of June. I guess you look on Corfu due to Easyjet or maybe Thompson's flights? You may want to have a look on flights to Crete (Chania) or Rhodes or even Kos ... Somenone can easily spend 2 weeks on Crete either in one location either in two and never feel bored while I think that one week Rhodes+one week Kos is a nice combination. Water and air temperatures will be much higher on June there than on Ionian sea... I am not that much familiar with Crete, but about Rhodes and Kos, I think June is a great month to visit. I hate the fact that some areas of those islands are taken by large AI resort hotels, but there are still some great areas.

On Kos you may want to have a look on Kefalos http://www.travel-to-kos.com/place.php?place_id=5 for a very very secluded spot or Tigaki, a more central but low key spot http://www.travel-to-kos.com/place.php?place_id=3 .

On Rhodes, personaly I love staying somewhere inside the old town http://www.rhodesguide.com/travelguide/rhodes_monuments.php?ssp=11 although Elia beach is a pebbly one and definately not a great one http://discover-rhodes.com/explore/beaches/elli-beach/. For a beach holiday a very scenic place that is maybe the most popular place on the island for relaxing holidays http://www.rhodesguide.com/travelguide/rhodes_beach_guide.php?ssp=25 but its beaches are rather pebbly. Near by Pefki/Pefkos village might be what you are looking for on June. Quiet with sandy beach and low key nightlife. http://www.pefkosexclusive.co.uk/ For absolutely isolated, stunning sandy beach, often with strong currents/wind though you may want to check Prasonisi http://www.rhodesguide.com/travelguide/rhodes_beach_guide.php?ssp=22 speaking for a couple of taverns and one or two accomodations near by only.

Personaly I would not rule out a flight to Athens and connecting to an other place or two. If you are willing to hire a car and explore mainland, you will have a very rewarding experiece. If not , maybe connecting to an island without (or limited) international flights, is the solution on what you are looking for....

A great site as an introduction to various Greek locations is http://www.greeka.com/ .
