Going to Adelaide soon and i was wondering what sights are a must on the way from the Great Ocean Road. Can anybody recommend sights and places to see along the way. Thanks (Driving in a car)

If I was doing that drive for sightseeing reasons, I'd stick to the coast even though it's a fair bit longer. Be sure to stop in Mount Gambier and have a look at Blue Lake. Piccaninnie Ponds looks very interesting to me, though I've never been. Particularly if you're a diver, there's apparently some amazing cave diving there. Snorkelling also possible. Worth a look I reckon, though might not be that easy to arrange since apparently you need a snorkel permit (didn't even know such things existed!!)

After Mt Gambier, stick to the coast then and drive through Coorong National Park. You should be able to see some Australian pelicans along there.

Victor Harbor is worth a stop (maybe overnight?). And then from there, you can drive up through McLaren Vale and do some nice wine tasting before reaching Adelaide.

The Airport is probably the best place to see lol. Victor Harbor is nice and you might even catch some whales this time of year. Definitely try and stick to the coast, much more sights to see there.

In Adelaide itself.. there's some worthwhile art galleries if you like such things. There's also the botanical gardens which are quite nice I found (but I like visiting gardens in cities :)). You can also catch Adelaide's one tram down to Glenelg.

I think for a lot of people, Adelaide is the hub from which to go explore elsewhere; Barossa, Kangaroo Island, McLaren Vale and so on.
