Aus is meant to be expensive (£1.50 for 1 lime in some supermarkets!!)
The hourly rate is for work is good in Aus.. Around $17.50 per hour for a basic admin job...
Try and take as much English cash as you can out there and the exchange rate should help lots!
I go in October also and I'm starting in Singapore for a few weeks.
Sounds good! Are you on facebook Ben?

Hi Jen, how exciting!! Where abouts in the uk are you from? X
I live in brighton at the moment
Its good to see that there are so many people doing it alone....makes it a lot less daunting!
Where about are you from?
My name is Jessie, from Edinburgh - I am also planning on travelling solo to Sydney around october time as well. It would be good to know some people that are going before hand as well.
What are everyone's travel plans?
I'm from the Lake District, I'm sure it will be fine when we're out there, but I'm just nervous that I won't know anyone!!
Hi Jessie, I love Edinburgh! I'm booked to fly on the 7th October, I've made a bit of a list of things that I want to do/see in Aus, but I'm not going to plan too much, just see where it takes me. What are you planning?
- Scott. X
Anyone flying into Perth late September?
I can't wait! Although nervous about the being on my own part and the spiders.
Yea,I haven't really made any plans, but was thinking along the lines of heading to Byron from Brisbane, then heading up the coast toward cairns while I look for work
What's everyone else got in mind?
