Henni has indicated that this thread is about China

Is there a possibility to travel an overland road from India to Tibet Lhasa without travelling through Nepal?

Can anyone answer this? I'm interested too.

I was thinking there might be a way through Darjeeling...but then again probably not. If there was then people would already be doing it, right?

I found this site: http://www.travel-himalayas.com/travel-to-tibet/ but it has the usual routes through Nepal or China.

If I can't find a way through India then I'm going to go through China in September.

Tibetans can't get passports to leave, so I'm told they secretly cross into India. I can only imagine that they would head south from Gyantse, Tibet to Yadong near the Bhutan / India borders. This of course is through the Himalayan Ranges, so I wouldn't recommend it to a foreigner.
