we have 3 teenage girls, 2 parents. We want to go somewhere with fun shopping(like local vendors/malls, but not designer type) and lots of things to do that wouldn't bore us (along with access to a beautiful beach). We were thinking of the dominican republic, but we can't seem to find a hotel that has beach access, spacious rooms, and access to fun things around the town. for reference, we enjoyed places like the Bahamas and Aruba. Can anyone recommend me somewhere (and maybe even a good hotel with spacious rooms?)our budget is around 7,000.

7000 what? This is a global forum, give us some clues where you're travelling from.

How about Grand Cayman or Cancun? Sounds like you want somewhere developed for tourism if you want shopping in markets.

Welcome to the Forum.

While Andyf is a bit blunt, he makes a good point, which is that we get questions from people all over the place (US, UK, France, Australia, Germany, Canada, Denmark, etc.).

Based upon the amount you mentioned, I'm guessing you are from the US and we are talking about US dollars. In this case, knowing where you plan to travel from would be helpful so we can estimate expenses. For example, I might suggest a trip to Cancun, and in particular, one that includes a visit to either the Mayan Riviera, Isla Mujeres and/or Playa del Carmen/Playa Escondido, but the price would vary considerably depending upon whether you lived in Dallas, Houston, or Miami (cheaper) or whether you lived in Seattle, Minneapolis, or Boston (much more expensive).
