hi, is it possible to insert photos into positon once others, of the same date, are already there?
i have found this not to be the case and have had to delete pics to get them in the right order...
bit annoying. any help on this would be good. thanks.

Do you mean when inserting in the blog or just uploading in an order generally?

hi thanks message....i mean in the blog. i upload pics in order, but sometimes want to add one, this seems impossible as if same date as those already uploaded it just goes to the end. sometimes i change all the dates of the ones 'above' the one i want to add so it goes in the 'right' place, but its a pain! i just wondered if there is something like the option to introduce a stop above or below one already entered? thanks.

Are you also referring to the Photography section on the side rather than in a blog entry? As it is possible to insert any photo of your choice (from your TP gallery, Flickr, etc) anywhere in your entries and even in an entry after it has been published.

The Photography section in the right navigation displays the most recently uploaded photos in your public gallery, which has been set in your Control Panel to the maximum display (8 photos).

To include a specific photo with your daily notes, use the Picture icon when editing an entry to insert the photo directly from your gallery. Hope this helps!

hi kellie, thanks message.
yeah, photos is stream. i dont put pics into my blog. when i upload pics to the site, for people to see, i sometimes have to delete or change dates to get other pics in the stream in the 'right' order...does that makes sense?
anyway, its not a big deal...just a niggle!
i just wondered if there was a way of putting pics in specific position - rather than just date order....

As I said, it's really just designed to show a snippet of your most recently uploaded photos and then readers can click through to your gallery to see the rest.
Because the gallery is shown on every page it means that anyone reading an old post will see whatever the latest images are, not the ones relating to the entry.

hi again. thanks yr reply.
sorry i dont seem to be able to explain what i mean : (
im not talking about the thumbnails on the blog page, im not bothered by that at all.
what i mean is the stream of pics, just the ones that people can click to, my gallery.
can i put pics into that stream in a specific order, i.e. not date. i upload my pics in
order (well i try to) but sometimes i want to add one in a specific place, what happens
is that they show by date, i.e. all the ones for 4.3.13 etc.
on the blog, map etc. there is an option (i think) for inserting info before or after
entries that are already there....
its not a big deal, i was just wondering really. thanks.

Hey Spiderface

No, you can't upload photo's in a specific order automatically... It will always show the newest photo on top.

You can however manipulate the system... I'll try to give an example:

You want to upload three photos... Two (A and B) are taken of your first day of vacation (say 01/03/13) and one (C) taken on your second day (02/03/13)..
If you upload them they will be shown C, B, A from top to bottom... You interested in reversing that order...

1) You can manually change the date on the taken photo, so the system thing that photo A is taken on 03/03/13, B on 02/03/13 and C on 01/03/13.. That will shown them in this order: A, B, C..
This is very unhandy if you're on a long trip uploading many photos..

2) Upload photos in bundles so all three photos have the same date. When a lot of photos have the same date, the system looks at their names since most cameras automatically name photos something like IMG_0001... By changing the names of your photos before you upload and make sure the photos have the same date, you can effect how they are shown a little bit...
Say you make sure that all three photo's have the date 01/03/13, you then rename them so A is called IMG_0003, B IMG_0002 and C IMG_0001..
That way they will be shown like A, B and C
This is a lot of work, so you need to really want it :)

That said: Kellie and the rest of TP's staff, the Photo Gallary could really use a option where it is possible to upload you photos in bundles...
I mean, it make good sense for visitors scrolling down through the photos that my recent photos from the where I am right now come before the photos from where I where five days ago...
However, I think it would be very handy that the first photo I took in, say Moscow, is the first not the last one to be shown when visitors reach my photos from Moscow...
As it is right now, it's impossible to make a collage for example...

I really hope it is something you will give some thought
