My name is Dennis Wade. On March 10, 2013 I made a booking through Travellerspoint.com with Yellow Cat Hostel in cascais, Portugal.
The booking was for 6 nights from Oct 25 to 31st, 2013. My booking reference is 56389-49357169.
Today I discovered that I won't be needing this accommodation, so I contacted Yellow Cat hostel directly to let them know, as per the instructions in my confirmation email from travellerspoint. the said OK, but that it was necessary for me to contact Travellerspoint also.
There is no place on the Travellerspoint website to do this.
Is this necessarry, and if so, how do I do it? Or have I done all of the necessary steps to cancel my accommodations?
As far as I know, that should have been all that was necessary. I'm assuming one of the admins will see this thread and will answer it definitively, but in case that doesn't happen, the best way to send in a question about a booking is through the contact form, selecting "I have already booked accommodation through Travellerspoint" as your topic.
Sorry to hear you won't be needing the reservation. Apologies also for the confusion created!
Sander is correct. We facilitate a deposit on behalf of the property but the reservation is made with the property themselves. Any amendments and cancellations must therefore be notified to the property directly and there are no additional steps required.
