Anyone else is Sydney for NYE this year and thinking of being at Sydney Harbour

I am looking at staying at wake up! hostel and i think it would be good if we could get a big group together and see the NY in together??

What do you think?

They hostel is expensive but seems worth it - good central location an good reviews?

Anyone else up for it?

Hi there

I'll be there, hopefully flying out on the 27th to arrive on the 29th...

Wake up though you need to book about ten days, they sent me an email earlier so i'll need to think where abouts to stay yet. Base Sydney looks good though or even Bounce.

Anyway, stay in touch and hopefully we can get loads of us together to see the NY in :)

Hi everyone,

Im thinking of hiring a camper in Melbourne around the 27th and driving up to Sydney and then thats your bed sorted aswel. So if anyone fancies joining me it could work out fairly cheap. I've seen a 3 person one for $1900 dollars and thats for 10 nights. So for accomodation and transport from Melbourne to Sydney about $630 each. I rekon this could be one of the cheaper ways to do it

Hi Gav

That would work out perfect for me, as i am thinking of spending XMAS in Melbourne. I wanted to fly back on the 27th but if you are driving up i'd love to take u up on that offer.

I also have a friend, who i have et through this site who also could be interested in this.

Ive always wanted to be a proper roadie and stay in a camper-van.

If you can give me more details ect i am up for it.

As long as we would be central to Sydney for NYE and we could manage it, would be nice to get out of hostels for a few days :)

Sweet! Actually just done some more research and can get it for $1200 for a 3 sleeper van, perfect! I was thinking of leaving on the 27th from Melbourne as like you, Im there for crimbo and the cricket on the 26th.

How would that work with you?

Im not sure exactly how long the drive would take, but no more than 2 days Im guessing.... :)

I will be there for Xmas too and Boxing day but i think i will just be partying!

I drive too so i can always help you with the driving- just let me know what i need.

We also need to think about petrol n stuff.

I have got in touch with my friend to see what she thinks.

It seems to take around 10 hours to drive, but we can just take it easy and stop off a few places and camp up somewhere if you liked.

Where would we stay in Sydney though?

Are you planning on going Sydney Harbour for NYE?
