I am planning to be in Goa in the Last week of March for a business trip.I would stay there till April 8th and was wondering what can i plan for my trip apart from the work.
Heard a lot about the Shigmo festival celebrated in Goa, it is a parade where the Goan men and women are dressed traditionally and display their traditional dance.
Just wanted to know anybody visiting Goa in the same span?
I am also going there from 27th to 31 March Shimgo festival is real attraction and i do have some contacts there so if you don't mind together we can plan out something. Waiting for your reply.
Shigmo festival is real fun.So if you are going for the last week of March first of all plan your self to celebrate Holi on 27th April.I would suggest plan its some where near Ponda Beach.Take complete rest on that day evening and again on the second day i.e. on 28th March enjoy the Shigmo parade starting from Ponda.
To add to this, you can also plan your self enrolled in the Kayaking training program to be conducted from 1-4th of April in Vaso and from 5th -8th of April in Panjim. It is open for all adults and children of 8 and above who know swimming.
Well this can really make you trip to Goa Exciting.
Shigmo festival is really sounds very interested.I just love Traditional dance. But I never got the chance to go there.I will definitely plan a trip to Goa in next vacations.
Yes it is very interesting indeed. The Shigmo festival is a display of mythology and ethinicity. Each and everything from the costumes to the dances, from the music to the food stuffs, enthusiasm of Shigmo fetival can be seen.Another thing that makes Shigmo festival a unique experience is the Shigmo parade, where Hindu Goan Men and Women dress themselves traditionally and perform various folk dances. These are then divided in to small groups.
The next time if you plan your trip to Goa, plan it according to the Shigmo festival.....
