alli2684 has indicated that this thread is about Travel Tips and Advice

Hi Guys

I am travelling to Hong Kong and Sydney as a sole traveller. I'm also visiting Perth in between but am meeting up with friends. Any one got any tips on places to stay or things to do when I am out there?? Any safety tips, places to avoid, places to eat/drink and meet similar people would be greatly received.

Thanks

Traveled to HK last year, very safe city, didn't feel threatened at all whilst there. Plenty of other western travelers too!

Dont forget to go to the races on a Wednesday night while you're there!
Other highlights include - The Peak, Ferry cruises, Disneyland (if thats your thing :) ), Shopping, Macau for a day trip?

Good Luck :)

I travelled to Hong Kong alone and felt perfectly safe; everywhere is so busy all the time, even late at night. Victoria peak is a must-see, also get the Star ferry across the harbour for a great view of the skyline. Macau is definitely worth a day trip - you'll meed your passport if you go. Lantau and Lamma islands are also worthwhile.

If you stay at one of the hostels in Mong Kok you should meet other western travellers. I stayed at Dragon Hostel which was great.

Hello,

We've been to Sydney and Perth by ourselves, last year, and I wrot a blog with quite a lot of pictures and details on our trip (we're camping 3 months in Australia, 2 in NZ and spending 3 more months in Malaisya, Vietnam and China.

What you could do right now, it's to go and have a look on it and translate French to English throught google as some of my English speacking friends do. Sorry, but until now I'm missing time for the English version, I'm still finishing the French oone !!

Right now I'm a bit in a hurry, I could come back to you for more details about Sydney and Sydney area !
Till then
Cat

I understand that I have every thing to copy or to write again, it's not easy
I'm afraid I'll have no time right now a pity anyway, you'll stay without answer
Sincerely
