Travel Forums Introductions Hi from Munich!

After reading through many of your great blogs, I finally joined Travellerspoint and would like to introduce myself.

My husband and I live in Munich, Germany and are in our 40's. The United States are high on our travel agenda as are hiking and our yearly skiing trips in Europe.

During our first trip to Hawaii in 2008 we fell in love with the Islands and returned in 2010 and 2012.

I cannot get my husband on big trips that involve hours on a plane every year. So usually after a long distance trip we do a hiking vacation the following year. While my husband's focus is on great hiking, mine is clearly on good food ;) In South Tyrol we found both, and it is a mere 3 hours drive from our home.

So this year it will be hiking in the Dolomite Alps for us. Hope I will be able to do a blog about it.

I also got to admit that I love to plan and research my trips, so guess who is planning his 2014 adventure already? Crazy, isn't it? For me half the fun of a trip is to read, research and dream of it well ahead of time... and I am dreaming NYC and US Virgin Islands at the moment. What a wonderful dream - let's see if it will come true.

Happy travels to all of you!

Welcome to Travellerspoint!
It sounds like you and your husband have a great balance in your travels. I'm jealous.

I am exactly the same with planning—I happily think, read, and dream about a destination for a solid 18+ months beforehand. The anticipation is part of the journey.

Good luck with the planning and I hope your dream comes true!
