I'll be visiting Beijing next month, but with little time for sightseeing. I'm keen to take a trip to the wall but most of the tours I read about are all day affairs. I won't have this sort of time unfortunately. I'm hoping to get there in an hour or two, spend 20-30 minutes there and come back again. Is this an option? Do I need to do a tour or could I charter a taxi for a fixed fee? What would I expect to pay?
Then go to Badalin. Taxi charges at about 150RMB or more(single way). You can fix it with the driver. But there`re several tourline buses to Badalin with the cost of 30-50 RMB or less. You can easily find the bus station in downtown. The wall has a length of nearly 10,000 miles, crossing several provinces in china. But usually we`re referring to some parts in Beijing. Badalin is the most visited part, which locals don`t go much now.
Thanks you Zhou, useful info.
