Hi there,

Im about to book my RTW ticket and would appreciate any comments/advice on the following:

Middle of May 05- Bangkok, 6 weeks volunteer teaching then 2.5 months travelling through Thailand & Malaysia to Singapore.

Middle of Sept - NZ, 4 weeks

Middle of Oct - Fiji approx 7-10 days

End of Oct - Oz, approx 8 weeks

I have about £4,000 for this 7 month trip, is this enough for daily expenditure????

Any comments much appreciated, thanks in advance!!

Kerry

Kerry, sounds like a pretty decent itenerary. As for budget, it's always a tough one to answer. £4k is enough to get by on as long as you don't get silly on the early part of you trip (Thailand, Malaysia are cheap so you should be ok).

yeah, that sounds pretty similar to mine. i will start of in bangkok on june 22nd. cant wait!

however, at the moment i am in my overdraft!!! so im very jealous of your 4 grand. but i do plan on staying in oz for around 9 months and working my way around. should be ok. however reading everyones threads gets me a little nervous as people are worrying if 4 or 5 grand will be enough!!! well ,i'll just have to wait and see.

hi guys. i agree that as long as ya dont blow ya money before getting to oz you'll be fine. for a start the exchange rate is helping you out heaps... try being me and taking my aussie dollars over to europe... not fun!! i reckon doing aus is all bout roughing it anyways if ya wanna see is australian style. you have to camp, which luckily is your cheapest option. and camping you'll meet heaps of ppl doing the same thing which creates new friendships and they all give ya suggestions of things to do and see. and we aussies know how to do it cheap, we're not fancy. you'll be fine. hope ya enjoy ya visits.
