hi everyone
nice to see everyone is excited and of course as nevous as me about travelling to oz, im looking to travel somewhere between the middle of may to june on a WHV, thinking of starting in melbs or sydney and then after that who knows, im travelling alone and would be good to meet up with u guys if we are around the same place at the same time, was debating to maybe do one of the east coast tours or just get to a hostel and take it from there? any suggestions would be welcome
thanks mike :)

Hi Christine

Im heading around then too, i booked the visa with USIT so i think im just gonna book the flights with them too for convenience sake.

Im either gonna start in Cairns, get the regional work out of the way and head to Sydney for NYE or start in Sydney and stay and work there till Jan and then head up the east coast...it all depends where the cheapest flights are going to :)

What are your plans??

Andrew

Hi Andrew

I'm looking at possibly getting a visa with usit. I'm only in the early stages of planning but I want things to move pretty quickly

I like your plan of going to Cairns and doing some regional work and then hitting Sydney for New Years. I haven't even looked at flights yet though. How much money do you reckon you'll need for going there? Going by your plan that is...

Thanks :)
Paddy

Heyyy I'm Jodie in 21 and also from Ireland in flyin to oz on the 1st of may round when are you flying? ;)

Hi Paddy!!

Once u have your visa booked it'll be granted within the week (mine took 2 days) :) So its up to you then when you actually want to leave. USIT also sort out an aussie bank a/c, tax file number and sim card. Oh and travell insurence so there pretty much a one stop shop...

Flight wise i havnt book mine either but im gonna get a return one for the simple reason is cheaper than buying2 one way tickets and itll save me the bother of having to worry about having enough money to get home...

Money wise im just gonna be taken the required AUS$5000 that should be enough to get me through the 1st month and a bit anyway while im looking for a job :)

Just have to build up the courage to book the flights and sell my car now :O

Hi Andrew

Thanks, I already booked mine there last week. I booked my visa with sta so just booked flights with them to in the end, was pretty handy. Sounds like you have it all worked out :P are you heading on your own?

Im not sure what my plans are yet. I have a friend over in brisbane so going there for first and probably work for a whole. Going in July now. Can't wait any longer. I'd be away tomorrow only I have to wait for my graduation. Sooo good having a date to look forward to though so get it booked :)
