I'm keen to tackle the Tiger Leaping Gorge walk in Yunnan Province, China, but it's not particularly safe to do alone. I would prefer a companion! Is anyone thinking of giving it a go?
I'm planning on starting (Visa pending) on Sun 21st April 2013.
I'm not super fit so have allocated 2 nights on the Gorge / 3 days as a conservative estimate of how long it will take to complete.
The Three Gorges (Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge) along the Yangtze River have long enjoyed a good reputation, along whose banks many historical and cultural relics are distributed and numerous legendary stories are told from one generation to another, adding to much allure of its beautiful scenery. Qutang Gorge is noted for its majestic steep crags, which measures 8 kilometers long with many wonderful scenic spots such as, the Meng Liang Staircase, the Ancient Plank Road, the Seven Gate Cave, the Bellows Gorge and the Rhino Watching the Moon. Wu Gorge is deep and serene, and Xiling Gorge is famous for its numerous shoals and turbulent torrents as well as its crystal-clear water. The Three Gorges Dam is a largest one of its kind in the world now, and it sits on the very site of the Three Gorges. More information about -snip- is available.
