Hi,

didn't know if people had any advice on travelling round India and whether I was better off travelling with an organised trip or whether I could do it alone?

Thanks!

Do you have any travel experience?

Cheers,
Terry

Travel experience or not, yes of course you can travel India alone, although you will never be in India or any other tourist destination alone for long. There are loads of people out there traveling alone that are always looking to meet up with someone else and share taxis, hotels etc. As long as you aren't some complete social leper, or have bad breath or BO, you will meet up with someone within a day guaranteed.

India can be a bit intimidating at first. But as long as you hit a well trodden tourist area first and get to grips with it, you'll be fine.

As I am Indian, so I will advise to travel India. Here you will find many places where you will feel awesome. If you are hill station lover, you can enjoy living around hills and can do activities like ice skating, trekking, rafting as well. If you are historic places lover, here you will get many historic buildings like Tajmahal ad many more.

If you are travelling alone so I would suggest to have an organised trip so that I you will find fellow travellers.

have a nice journey!

Hey,
I am an Indian too and in my opinion travelling alone is always much more fun as it allows you to explore more. India, being such a diverse land as it is, you need some time to feel and experience a place. Organized trips will show you the most common tourist destinations, but they won't give you time to settle in and enjoy.
I would advise you to consult some friends who have been to India and ask for places that are 'must-visits' and not just popular tourist destinations. Personally i think you should visit Jaipur, Kolkata, Goa, Kerala, Shimla and some cities like Delhi and Mumbai.

There is always an option of finding like-minded people and travelling together. It's safer too!

Happy journeys!

Hi Colli21,

India is a beautiful county and there are lot more things to explore here like historical monuments, hill stations, festivals etc.

There is no problem if you are planing to travel alone in India. That's up to you how you want to travel whether in a group or alone. Just you need to have an pre planned idea that where you have to go on all your days so that you explore more.

Firstly choose the places where you want to go and the schedule to visit there then just look at hotels around that area so that you don't face the problem to stay.

I think this information will be helpful for you. :)

Have a great trip.

Hi Colli,

It depends a lot on your gender. Women Solo Travelers ? Even though I am an Indian, will advise against it.

Thanks
