As far as Im aware there is no such thing as the wrong way round, it just depends on you personally a round the world ticket is a round the world ticket. Mostly you have to continue in the one direction though - so I would say to you to do oz, nz, then fiji followed by south america.

What ever way you chose to go I hope you have fun:)

I cant see any reason why yours wouldnt be doable Nic. It's better to fly west so you can keep on top of the jet lag apparently, but other than that there arent any major disadvantages to your route. ;)

When are you heading off?

Hi nic, that's a fine route and I would certainly have no hesitation recommending that if you wanted to visit all 4 countries/areas (it's actually smart to take south america after australia since you have some travelling under your belt and it's smart to keep the cheapest places for the end...). The only thing I might do differently is as moolieness says to take Fiji after NZ but I know that possibly that might end up a lot more expensive since the cheapest way to add Fiji on to a trip like this is usually a return to/from Australia. It used to be different but I think Qantas changed how they service Fiji last year...

Hi Nic,

My friends are in the process of doing a RTW trip and the cheapest ticket they found was Aus, NZ, then Fiji. However, as you are adding S. America on to your trip it might work differently as you might have to fly back to Aus or NZ to go to S. America. Sounds like a good route in theory though.

A few of us are planing on taking that route later this year after SE Asia, but we are leaving out the Fiji part just because we won't have the money or milage to spare when booking, I can't wait to do it, especially looking forward to SA, when we will be over there during the world cup and it should be cheap to get by.
