Hi everyone

Within the next few months i'll be setting off on a journey that's going to take years, I've always loved travelling but every time i fly somewhere i feel like missing out on everything in between. So i've decided to do something few people dare and walk around the world. I'll be starting off in France and following the GR36 to the Spanish border. From there the plan is open, I'm still considering whether to travel around Spain or not. Either way the general route will be east towards Russia then through Kazakhstan into Mongolia, south through China to Nepal then around India then through SE Asia to find a tropical island to have a rest.

For me this is going to be a way of life so i have no time limit and little interest in returning to England, two French men set off on a similar journey in 2008 and only arrived in Vietnam last month so if you are interested keep in mind that this is a life changing commitment and especially isn't backpacking trip sleeping in hostels and following the tourist trail. For the great majority of the time there won't even be a hostel.

I've had this in the planning for the past couple of years and although originally my sister was going to pursue this adventure with me she decided to get married and have a puke machine instead so i'm now looking for a friend to experience this journey with and to save me from only having the dog to talk to.

If your physically fit and think you could commit to such an adventure then get in touch

It does sound very inspiring! How much money have you saved to keep you ticking over for this adventure?

Money is of no concern, I'm not expecting someone who wants to join me to come up with the same amount i'm putting towards the trip but neither is this a free ticket so you would need to be able to contribute. I also plan on working maybe a couple of weeks in september with the grape harvest for all the free wine the french drown you in. I already have all the equipment needed, you will need your own lightweight tent, a sleeping bag with at least a -15 comfort temperature, and a rucksack. I might even help out with this depending on things. One other thing i probably should note, my german shepherd never leaves my side so will be embarking on this adventure to.

I know this thread hasn't been posted in for over 30 days but I can't help myself. I'm wondering if your plan is still the same and if so, where I'll be able to follow you. I'm planning on the same type of traveling and I'm very interested in reading about other people's experiences.
