Hey Mike,

I would certainly advice you not to go to north as of now, the situation over there isn't pretty good. Floods all around, even Nainital, Masoori, dehradoon, all the regions are facing high rainfall, landslide.. Otherwise you may visit, Kerala, Goa... Avoid Leh ladaakh till the situation gets under control...

I would suggest you to visit Ooty, Kerala, Goa, Andaman & Nicobar etc there are many places in south to visit till the time things get better in North.

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]

Thank you very much everyone who replied. I'm currently in Manali in the north, after visting Srinagar in Kasmir and Leh Ladakh. Unfortunately, there have been heavy monsoon rains in the past few days and a lot of the roads have been destroyed, so I am limited to the places I can reach safely.

Hi Mike,

India is a beautiful country. I would suggest you to go to South India Kerala.
For Himalayas you can go to Himachal pradesh or North East state Sikkim. October -November is ideal place for both South India and North East / North India.

Its an average weather in September in Delhi. Not too hot, just around 30 degree C. I'd recommend you to visit Jammu and Kashmir. There'll be so many taxi vans that will get you to Kashmir from Delhi. Not even expensive. It's about 8-9 hours drive. The taxi will stop for coffee's and other places if you ask. And if you ever go to Kashmir, don't forget to go to Gulmarg (mini Switzerland of India). It is a hill station which is located just one hour drive from Srinagar (Kashmir). The town is within the Himalayas. You can enjoy some of the best downhill Mountain biking until October.
