I'm going in September but going to be there for a year at least so planning on working for a bit and then doing a bit of travelling so I would possibly be up for the kiwi experience bus or something similar around dec/jan time.

If you have come up to a group of people to travel with you around New Zealand, it would be better if you will be renting a Campervan. It will be private for the group where you can save a lot of money as you don't have to pay additional prices for like waitress tips, room service, or etc. And not to mention you can stay in a places like the Hokitika Holiday Park in Hokitika, the Mt. Somers Holiday Park near Ashburton, and all lot more.

Hi all

I would definitely say to rent a camper, New Zealand has so many hidden gems that the tour bus companies doesn't take you to, plus you can do everything in your own time. I rented a car by myself, travelled around and mixed hostels with a bit of camping in the night. It was amazing, the beauty of New Zealand is to behold! Oh and dont miss out on Queenstown...amazing place, and dont forget to try the famous Fergburger while your there!!

Hi Grace,

I've just had a look on your profile and it seems we have similar plans. I've got my WHV for NZ but I'm undecided whether to stay in OZ up to Xmas and NY or whether to head over to NZ in November, but I land in Sydney the end of September.

I see you are from Dudley, I live just on the outskirts of Bromsgrove so not too far down the road. I'm also 24 and going alone. I've thought about hiring a van but to keep it simple I may just do the kiwi experience. Would love to hear any plans you have? :-)

I'm travelling to NZ on the 2nd January for 3 weeks and I'm doing the sheepdog pass/kiwi experience. I'm going to oz first for 6 weeks hen heading to china after NZ.

It would be great to meet up with other travellers going around the same time. Did you decided which company you were going to use for hop on/hop off?

Hi grace, if you decided to head to NZ and are there in January then let me know. I'm a 26 female travelling alone so it would be great to know someone else going!
