Hi

Hope all's well with my fellow-travelers.

I need some advice on some crucial issues

I'm an Indian National who worked in Dubai ,UAE for 5 years as a Manager in a Tourism Company

in 2007 I was posted To UK on an inter-company work permit valid till October 2008 and with an another Visit Visa valid till March 2012. To cut a long story short I changed my job in UK after my work visa expired, got a new offer and went to India to apply for new work visa which was rejected because I stayed on for 8 months on my Visit Visa instead of 6 months.

I'm working in Dubai again and travelling frequently to Thailand and Hong Kong.

I've to travel to Spain in October and to Canada in November but am worried that I'll have to declare my UK Visa refusal on the application and be automatically refused. If I declare the refusal I'll be refused and If I don't declare then if UK immigration records are shared with EU & CANADA then again I'll be refused.Damned if I do and Damned if I don't.

Can any kind soul/fellow traveler advise me on my predicament.

Thank you for listening

T W

I don't know the specific policies of the countries you mention but my guess is that you'll still be allowed entry if you declare your UK visa refusal. A friend of mine was deported from Japan for overstaying (which is surely worse than a refusal); several years later he applied for a visa for the UK, declaring on the application that he had been deported from Japan, and was granted his visa without issue. I think honesty is the best policy because if they do find out that you haven't told the truth on your form that would definitely go against you.
