I am planning for a short visit to Vietnam from Aug 3 to Aug 11, 2013. I have planned to travel alone. At the moment, I have kept the itinerary flexible, though I would like to do the following.
- Explore vietnam from South to North
- A bit of understanding history
- A bit of trekking
- Train travel to most places
- ofcourse, explore local food habits and night life.
I will sketch out the whole plan in detail in a weeks time. If anyone interested to join me, do let me know.
It will be on a medium cost budget.
The only problem is that Vietnam is a much larger place than you had thought, and train travel is incredibly slow and painful for the middle class! Did you do your research before travel - you need to be savvy about local scams (taxis in Vietnam can be a pain in the bum!). I love this country, but those who just arrive without knowing how things work usually end up complaining about what a terrible place they went to. Vietnamese people can be some of the friendliest, most generous on this planet, but they are not the ones serving tourists.
