Why is Friday 13th considered unlucky, considering that the Last Supper was on Thursday?

I do know in the Royal Navy it's considered unlucky to launch a ship on a friday. In the 19th century the admiralty tried to dispel this myth by launching a ship called HMS Friday on a friday. It's keel was laid on a friday too. It went to sea and the ship and her crew were never seen again.

I dont know where that "Friday 13th bad-luck day" started from but this is all I have to say...in my life, I have been hit few times by other drivers while driving here in Florida.

In one specific accident I was stopped at a light and I was hit from behind. Serious case of whiplash. In another I was driving on the highway and flying debri off another vehicle hit my car and almost went through my windshield. They both happened on Friday 13th quite a few years back. Now when Friday 13th comes around, I try not to go anywhere and just stay in doors...

I agree Joz...I was just yesterday I realized Easter was this Sunday...well, I am agnostic so there was no reason for me to know anyway. I celebrate Passover with my husband and his jewish family
