hey Rosie,

not so much travel experience as you'd imagine I've only traveled once to Australia on a more of long holiday last year!

Just its been a long year working 24/7 saving up to go back and do my one year visa, so I've had a awful long time to research and chat to travelers I've met around the UK :D

the thing I've found most is to trust your gut feeling, when your thinking of planning and booking it, if it all works out and runs smoothly on run up to you handing your money over and booking your flights! then do it, if your having lots of second thoughts and or problems occurring, then i'ts properly not the right things to do at this time!
Also, if you book with a good travel agent ( Id recommend STA travel) As they offer a multiflex pass for about £50 where you can change your flight dates several times so if it comes to been in Thailand and your funds fun low you can give them a call up and fly onto oz a few weeks early, or whatever it maybe :D

hope this helps you guys :D xx

Hey, I don't know if anyone could help? My friend and I are planning to go to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Thailand in late November. Just wondering would it be best to join an organisation e.g. Gap 360? Or just do it alone?

Also as we want to go to all these places how would it be best to book our flights? Should we book before we actually go or book along the way?

Thanks, Megan x

Meagan. Your young and assumably want to have fun and Adventure.
WING IT.
Take each day as it comes "Thats adventure".
You,ll be meeting a lot of new people things might change.
Definatly book your flights on line along the way.
A phablet will be your best friend.
The most important thing is BUDGET.
Start at the cheap head home in one strait line.
THAILAND, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, FIJI.
Enjoy your trip and have fun.

I'm going travelling for as long as possible leaving this October, my plan WAS to do roughly 3 months in Thailand, roughly one month in Bali and then several months travelling/ working in oz until i run out of money. I'm coming to the point where I need to start booking flights and sorting out visas but I'm really struggling whether I am making the right decision as I have never been to any of these places. I have a budget of around 8000, should I go to Thailand or oz first?! And I'm going on my own. Any help is VERY appreciated!! Xx

Hi Rosiie: I would most defenently have to agree with Holly Travel in one direction starting with the cheapest.
Thailand a great place full of great travelers. I have been going every year for the last ten years doing my visa
run from Bali.Dont sit there making your self sick with something that will turn out to be a great adventure.
Look at Holly she cant wait she is all over this site.Dont worry it will be fine.
If you like i will leave my skype and facebook address in your inbox
ps: your profile could be handy so we know a little about you.

Goodluck Rosie - I'm from Adelaide, Australia and it can be a bit expensive to travel around here but hostels are budget friendly and the people here are pretty easy-going as well. There is probably no need to join a tour group in oz if you speak English fine. The best way to get around is get a group together, hire a car and do your own thing. Websites like couchsurfing.org or Meet up can help you meet other travellers or locals.
And if your in oz around now then rug up because its winter! I'm heading to Thailand next week so looking forward to escaping the cold for a bit!
And a great and cheap backpacking tour I did in Fiji was FeeJee experience, great guys there and very flexible as you can hop on or hop off at your leisure.
Safe travels!

Hey Rosie

I don't know if you've made any plans yet, but i'm heading to Oz via malaysia and thailand September 30th on my lonesome!

I fly into Malaysia September 10th then was planning on getting a flight to Bangkok, working my way down to the full moon party on the 18th before heading back to KL (possibly by train) to catch my flight to Brisbane on the 30th!

Let me know if your planning on doing a similar thing; would be awesome to do it with someone :)

Cheers,

Jen

Thailand is absolutely gorgeous and much better than Australia.. Reason is that I have traveled both countries but Thailand has been nicer and would be more fun for cultural and adventurous fun! I wish you the best of luck and have fun!!!!!
